Thursday,
June 30th - Robert
Craig Wine Cellars Winemaker's Dinner
Robert Craig Wine Cellars is a small, ultra-premium
winery, renowned for hand-crafting limited quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon
from exceptional wine grapes in the great appellations of the Napa Valley
. Recently named one of California's top 25 wineries, the Robert
Craig wine program is based on the concept of "Two Mountains and a Valley,"
which showcases three limited-production Cabernet Sauvignons, all of which
we will have at the wine dinner:
. 2001 Affinity
, their Bordeaux-style Cabernet blend of grapes from
the Valley floor
. 2001 &
2002 Mt. Veeder
Cabernet from
the rugged Western slopes of Napa Valley
. 2002 Howell
Mountain
Cabernet from
high atop Napa Valley 's eastern range
In addition to their three award-winning
Cabernet Sauvignons, the winery produces very small quantities of Chardonnay
and Syrah that we
will sample that evening.
In addition to receiving 93
points from Wine & Spirits, Robert Parker had this to say about the
2001 Mt. Veeder cab: "This high quality winery continues to turn out elegant,
handsome reds. Saturated ruby/purple-color offers up sweet aromas
of black raspberries, currants, & plums, along with supple, well-integrated
tannin, & a long, concentrated, rich finish. This powerful yet elegant,
well-balanced beauty will drink well for 10-12 years." --The Wine
Advocate, March 2005
Elton Slone
from Robert Craig will guide us through these very
special, limited-production wines with his unique charm, energy, and humor
while the Pine Crest Inn culinary team tantalizes our taste buds with
some special food pairings. "Elton is incredibly passionate about
limited-production, hand-crafted Cabernets, and he is excited to share
our story with restaurateurs around the country," according to vintner
Robert Craig.
Tuesday,
June 14th - Fiddlehead
Cellars Winemaker's Dinner
Tim Duggan
from Fiddlehead Cellars
will be our guest as we enjoy 6 different selections from their California
and Oregon properties. The menu that evening will include pesto
shrimp, spinach salad with a floral vinaigrette, capellini alla savoy,
crisped duck with sodden cherry glaze, and a triple chocolate torte for
dessert. A full menu with wine pairings will be sent in email this
Friday. Tim will be staying at the inn that evening and rooms will
be available at a 40% discount for
those attending the dinner. For those that haven't attended previous
dinners, this is a great opportunity to spend additional time with our

in the evening at many of these functions.
Thursday,

winemaker at Rockhouse Vineyards, will be our host for a delightful

in his Tryon winery.
Thursday,

Vineyards, Barnett Vineyards, Anderson's Conn Valley
Trespass
Vineyards owners Dana and Donny Gallagher will be our
guests at this event. The Gallaghers, along with legendary Viader winemaker
Charles Hendricks, produced only 2 wines in 2001, a Cabernet Sauvignon
and a Cabernet Franc, from a very special 4-acre vineyard in Napa Valley's
St. Helena district. Their wines have become a true "labor of love"
with virtually every aspect of vineyard management and winemaking being
done by hand limiting them to only 700-800 total cases produced each year.

Vineyards Winemaker's
Dinner

of California. Jonathon and his partner Susan Marks started the
winery in 1995 and have been getting rave reviews from the critics the
last few years. We will feature their Viognier, syrah, zinfandel,
and cabernet sauvignon. A special treat with dessert with be a 1973
White Port from Quinta de Santa Eufémia.
Monday,
April 11th - Harrison
Vineyards Winemaker's Dinner
Harrison
Vineyards owner
& winemaker Lyndsey Harrison will
be our host for another incredible food and wine extravaganza. One
of Napa Valley 's premier wineries since 1989, Harrison Vineyards total
production is less than 3,000 cases per year. Lyndsey's philosophy
toward the making of Harrison's high quality wines has always presumed
that the best wines are determined by the quality of fruit from which
they are made, and they are blessed with outstanding estate vineyards
in the hillsides of the St. Helena district of Napa Valley.
