Wine Spectator Award of Excellence

With this award we are recognized for our commitment to a fine wine list, with an excellent selection of better producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. The Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence wine lists typically offer 80-150 selections, the Pine Crest Inn Wine Cellar offers over 1,500 interesting and delicious selections, including numerous mature vintages, multi-year verticals, and sparkling, port, & dessert wines.

The Tryon Wine Society
The Tryon Wine Society Wine holds a tasting every week on Thursday at the Pine Crest Inn & Restaurant. Each week a different flight of four to six wines is thoughtfully selected by your host Carl Caudle, who will provide the group with an overview and history of each wine and winery. There is also a wine dinner at least once a month. It consists of a five to seven course meal with a wine paired for each course. This is an excellent way to experience our diverse wine cellar and our wonderful gourmet meals. Winery owners and winemakers are often hosts of our wine dinners.
Wine Tastings are $7-16 for members and $10-20 for non-members (price varies depending on type and number of wines offered). A schedule of upcoming wine flights and dinners is available on our Events page.
